Biography

Former Malone Native Dies Nathan David "Nate" Roberts, 32, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010.  Nathan was born April 27, 1977 in Malone, NY to his surviving parents, Donald and Ann Roberts of Suffolk, VA.  He was one of three children.  Nathan is survived by brother and sister-in-law Joshua and Rhianna Roberts of Windsor Mill, MD and brother and sister-in-law and children Jeremy and Mary, Anthony, Aidan, and Ava Roberts of Chesapeake, VA.  Nathan is also survived by two children, Brandon Provost, 13, of Plattsburg, NY and Alyvia Roberts, 3, of Columbia, SC.  He battled Non-Hodgkins B-cell lymphoma for over four years.  Nathan was a kind, gentle and very loving son, brother and father whose primary wish throughout his illness was to be able to care for himself and his children.   Arrangements are being provided by Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, NY.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 4th from 4-8pm.  A funeral mass will also be held Friday, February 5th at St. Mary's Church in Brushton at 11am. The family wishes to extended its gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for him; especially the staff at Duke Medical Center, whose worked tirelessly to cure him and ultimately facilitated Nate's passing with dignity. Donations can be sent in Nathan's memory to the Hammill Funeral Home.

Wow! First off, to Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, I could not imagine the pain of losing a child. My deepest condolences! Nate, you had quite the sense of humor and you were very hard to stay mad at. You will be missed!

There are never the right words to say at a time like this. Nate fought a hard battle, but that was him. He was that kind of guy, he gave it his all. He always had a smile and a hug for you. We choose to remember him as he was-full of energy,kind, funloving, adventurous, family oriented and passonate about the Steelers! nate- there are so many things that i did not say that needed to be said...and now its to late and i have to hold them with me until i see you again. you were wonderful inside and out regardless what we went through. i will always remember you and the great times we had.be at peace and let god give you wings to fly away.each and everyday i will miss you! Don, annie and family--ur thoughts and prayers are with me...be strong and take care---nathan must have gotten his strength somewhere!!
