Obituary of Philip Stark

Brasher Falls- Mr. Philip L. Stark, 77, passed away Thursday August 24, 2017 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

In keeping with Phil's wishes there will be no services at this time. His family has planned a Memorial Celebration of Phil's Life which will be held at a later date.

Philip was born in Massena on November 4, 1939 to the late Wayne S. and Hattie M. (French) Stark Sr. He graduated from Massena Central High School in 1962. Philip moved to Rochester where he worked for General Motors, retiring after 30 years. After retirement, he moved to Florida but returned home to New York in 2007.

Phil loved his family. He was blessed with talent, a love for music, and excelled at playing the piano. He enjoyed going out to eat, especially to the local diners, and driving his car. In his leisure time Phil took pleasure in flower gardening and his plants.

He is survived by his brothers: Wayne A. and Joyce Stark of Massena, and Harold R. Stark and Beverly Boyea of Chase Mills; 2 nieces: Sonja S. Stark of Selkirk, and Tina A. Stark of Albany; Aunt Eileen French of Massena; and several cousins.
