Potsdam- Blanche E. Goodnow, 84, (formerly of West Stockholm) passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in the comfort of her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Blanche was born on September 9, 1928 in the Town of Lawrence, daughter of the late Michael and Mildred (Shatraw) Roach. She graduated from North Lawrence High School and went to work at Massena Memorial Hospital then at TruStitch in Moira. On August 20, 1976, she married Frederick L. Goodnow in Lawrenceville by Justice Homer Stranger. Mr. Goodnow passed away November 26, 1995. For many years, Blanche worked for George and Evelyn Anderson at the Anderson Funeral Home, until she retired.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Being the last in her family, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Floyd Roach; one sister, Rachel Bashaw; two sisters in law, Eunice Roach and Ginger Roach.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday July 2 at 10:30AM at the Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson Cemetery.
