Massena- Sadly we regret the passing of Lindsey M. Hicks, 34 who passed away on Friday January 6, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Lindsey was born on July 19, 1982 in Lafayette, LA., to Brian and Debra (Murray) Hicks. She attended Massena High School, earning her GED and furthering her education at North Country Community College.
For some time Lindsey worked as a farmhand for Greenwood Dairy in Madrid. She truly enjoyed caring for the farm animals and was able to spread her animal love and compassion along with her hard work and dedication.
Lindsey was blessed with a huge heart and an eclectic spirit; which she portrayed through her affection for others, her unique piercings and colorful tattoos. She enjoyed music that was as loud as she was and had an everlasting smile that brightened up any dull moment. Lindsey was a big kid at heart. Her family, especially her nieces and nephews, were her world and she would do anything for them.
Those who knew and loved her will remember her best when they notice a turtle or are enjoying an iced coffee 4 & 4 with caramel and whipped cream from Tim Horton’s.
She is survived by her parents, Brian and Debra Hicks of Massena, her sister, Nicole Hicks and Robert Scott of North Lawrence, her brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Sasha Hicks of TN., her nieces and nephews who she adored: Seth Dailey, Hannah Scott, and Isaac Scott of North Lawrence and Arya Hicks of TN., grandmother, Dora Hicks of Massena, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, many friends, and her canine companion and best friend, Oscar.
Lindsey was predeceased by her grandparents: Mary and Earl Murray and Norman Hicks.
Calling hours will be Tuesday January 10th from 3-6pm. Lindsey’s Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will begin at the conclusion of calling hours. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Massena ASPCA.
