Basil R. French

Brasher Falls – Basil R. "Bud" French, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday April 10, 2014 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena with his family at his bedside. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Basil was born in Reynoldston in the Town of Brandon on October 6, 1924, son of the late Ralph D. and Eleanor C. (Campbell) French. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army. On December 7, 1945, he married Theresa M. Faucher, sharing 64 years together until her passing on February 6, 2010. He is survived by his children, Annette and Bob Keenan of Ford City, PA, Alan and Ann French of Brasher Falls, Susie and Tom Liberty of Norfolk, Elizabeth and Steve Fobare of Lawrenceburg, KY,and Carl French of Brasher Falls; one sister, Christine and Robert Smith of Massena; one brother, Ronnie and Vivian French of FL; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. One son, Clark French, predeceased him. Following his wishes, there will be no calling hours or public funeral service. A private family service will be held at their convenience.
