St. Regis Falls/Alice Assisted Living, Malone - Beatrice M. "Betty" Dimick, passed away Tuesday evening at Alice Hyde Medical Center. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls.
Beatrice was born on February 29, 1924 in Buffalo, daughter of the late Robert V. and Margaret M. (Miller) Hartz, and received her education in Buffalo. While in Western New York, she worked for Buffalo Pottery and Buffalo Envelope. On March 2, 1949, she married Charles Dimick at the Dimick Family Home with Rev. Dobbe officiating. Together they owned and operated Charlie's Restaurant on the Blue Mountain Road for 18 ½ years. Mr. Dimick passed away on May 12, 2001.
Betty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in St. Regis Falls, a member of the St. Regis Order of Eastern Star, and the St. Regis Falls Adult Center.
She is survived by her children, Charles and Diane Dimick of Brushton, John Dimick of Missouri, Timothy and Kelly Dimick of Dickinson and Susan Gordon and her companion, Jim Forrette of Malone, nine grandchildren; Alan, Alexis, Jessica and John Dimick, Nicole Stokes, Joseph Gordon, Heather Hall, Ian and Tommy Dimick, 12 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter. Betty was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Hartz, Edmund Hartz, Albert Hartz and Irene Smith
Following her wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 27th at 3 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Regis Falls. Burial will be in the spring in Forest Cemetery.
