Norfolk- It is with great sadness that Cassandra Vanguilder and Jacob Pitts share the passing of their son, Bryson Reese Vanguilder, 3, who died on January 29, 2019 at Massena Memorial Hospital after complications due to Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE).
Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 – 4 PM and Bryson’s Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 PM at the conclusion of calling hours with Rev. Rachael Jordan officiating. Family and friends are invited to join at the American Legion in Winthrop following Bryson’s funeral for a luncheon gathering.
Bryson was born in Massena on October 26, 2015 to Cassandra Vanguilder and Jacob Pitts; and although he was born with HIE, Bryson was always able to smile through the struggles. His smile was contagious and could light up any room.
He adored Mickey Mouse, grooving to music, and giggling to the sound of nursery rhymes with his baby sister. His favorite shows to watch were Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Curious George.
Bryson is survived by his parents, and little baby sister Anastazia Pitts; his grandparents: Nana, Susie Thompson, Papa and Mimi, Bob and Maria Oakes, Grandpa and Grandma, Gene and Tracy Goodreau, and Great Grandma Gail Donaldson; many Aunts and Uncles; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandpa George Thompson and Great Grandpa Lee Donaldson.
