The good Lord has called another angel home. Carol Ann (Moose) Farmer entered the kingdom of our Lord on March 29, 2025. Born January 6, 1939, the daughter of Edward J. Moose and Nora J. (Cheney) Moose. A lifelong resident of St Regis Falls, she attended and graduated from St Regis Falls Central School in 1956. She was a communicant of St Ann's Roman Catholic Church in St Regis Falls.
On July 20, 1957, at Holy Cross Church in Hopkinton, she entered into holy matrimony with Nelson H. Farmer Jr. and together they lovingly raised five children: Susanna Lee (Ralph) Kolupa, Randy Nelson (Ronna) Farmer, Theresa Jean (Bruce) Sexton, Diana Lynn (William)Finney Jr, and Craig John (Michele) Farmer. She loved all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She appreciated all the visits from her nephews, Ralph Conger, Barry Farmer and her niece, Cindy (Bob) Nelson.
Carol brought joy to everyone she met with her smile, a hug, or her ability to make everyone feel special. She always saw the good in people. Oh, that golden heart. Walking through town, it was common to hear the town's children call out to her, "Hi mom!"
In high school, Carol was an avid sports player. She enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, basketball, and cheering "for our great boys of SRF". Carol worked in her parent's store, Moose's IGA, on main street; was the head cook in St Regis Falls Central School (no child ever went hungry); was the Town Clerk and later Town Councilperson for many years. Raising her children with her husband, she helped with the small farm where they raised cattle and pigs and tended a small garden. Clearing pastures, building and mending fences, clearing fields and cutting wood, she worked beside her partner and best friend for 68 years. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She attended their activities, school sport functions, and always lit up when they were around. Carol enjoyed crocheting, painting, collecting cookbooks, stamps, coins, and buttons! She loved adventurous "road trips"! One of her greatest hobbies was taking pictures and capturing life.
The last few years were challenging for her, and she questioned her purpose. She was ready to go home to our Lord. But through many hugs, kisses, and love she was shown, and told, she did have a purpose. She was an inspiration... to everyone who knew and loved her. Even though there was sun downing...the sun rises were there... beaming through her bright eyes, big smiles, hugs, hand holding, devious grins, and playful winks. God packed our mother, our father's loving wife, full of love and kindness. He has called his angel, his faithful servant, home and she is surrounded by butterflies. She would say, "The butterfly is beautiful and when you see one just know I'm thinking of you."
