Ogdensburg – Daniel S. Denney, 63, passed away unexpectedly January 14, 2015, following an automobile accident. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Daniel was born on January 10, 1952 in Watertown, son of Curtis S. and Mary (Pickett) Denney. He graduated from Canton High School and earned his Nursing Degree from SUNY @ Canton. On April 20, 1974, he married Constance Curtis at Grace Episcopal Church in Canton with his father, Rev. Cannon Curtis Denney performing the ceremony. They shared an amazing journey of 40 years of friendship and love.
Daniel was strong-willed, putting his heart into everything he did. Whether working as a nurse or paramedic, taking photographs or playing bass in the many bands throughout the years. He worked as a DJ for WOTT in Watertown, a producer/director for WPBS in Watertown, a nurse at United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg and Paramedic for R. B. Lawrence Ambulance. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He was striving to teach his grandchildren how to play the guitar as they followed in his love of music. Daniel was an avid photographer who was not afraid to give up the good shot to go for the great one. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees. His spirit and strength of character shone through his accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, two sons and daughters in law; Joshua Daniel and Ashley Denney of Massena and Matthew Levon Curtis and Sarah Denney of Chaumont, his parents; Rev. Cannon Curtis and Mary Denney of Ogdensburg, two sisters; Pamela Denney of Tillson and Stephanie Denney of Syracuse, two grandchildren; Justice and Victoria, many nieces, one great niece and nephew. He was predeceased by an infant grandson, Lucas.
Following Daniel’s wishes; there will be no visitation or services at this time. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in the spring.
