Donne Walker

St. Regis Falls - Donne M Walker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024, at the Alice Center in Malone. She was 84 years old. Born in Malone on September 17, 1939, she is the daughter of the late Malcolm and Sadie (Wiley) Fye. Donne was a cherished member of her community and touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Donne led a remarkable life that was filled with love, laughter, and dedication. After completing her education and earning her high school diploma, she was employed by several local businesses before embarking on a career as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Her commitment to serving her community was unwavering, and she proudly fulfilled her roles for many years before retiring.

Outside of work, Donne found immense joy in nurturing her relationships with family and friends. She was a devoted spouse to her loving husband, Herbert "Bill" Walker, and together they shared a bond that was steadfast and enduring. Donne was also a loving mother to her son John and his wife Pamela Walker and her daughter Jean and her husband Daniel Brockway. She cherished the role of being a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Travis & Kimberly Brockway, Zachary & Michaela Brockway, Erik Brockway & Eva Drake, Mikayla Brockway, Morgan & Brandon Dufrane, and Samuel & Jordan Walker. More recently, she experienced the joy of becoming a great-grandmother to Bryson, Addilynn, McKenzie Brockway, Harper & Jaxson Dufrane and Wyatt Brockway.

Donne's presence enriched the lives of her extended family as well. She will be deeply missed by her brother and sister-in-law Malcolm & Edna Fye, sister, Sadie Martin, brother-in-law Tom Riley, and sister-in-law Linda Fye. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert F. "Bill" on July 3, 2019 and her son John F. on July 26, 2022, a son Brian in infancy, a sister, Joan Riley and a brother, Daniel Fye. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

In reflection of Donne's life, a Funeral Service will be held at the Free Methodist Church in St. Regis Falls on February 16, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, loved ones and friends are invited to pay their respects during the Visitation at the church, beginning at 10:00 am.

Donne's final resting place will be at Forest Cemetery.

Donne M Walker's departure leaves a profound void in the lives of those she touched. Her loving spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication will be cherished and remembered forever. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Free Methodist Church, 1491 St. Rt. 458, St. Regis Falls, NY 12980, in memory of Donne.
