Brasher Falls- Mrs. Edna Gale LaFave, 94, peacefully passed away on February 14, 2019 at the Massena Memorial Hospital in the presence of her family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. In keeping with Edna’s wishes there will be no services at this time. Burial will take place in the spring at Carville Cemetery in Helena for her immediate family. Her family and friends will be holding a Celebration of Life later with a date to be determined.
Edna was born in Moira on September 24, 1924, daughter of the late Clark and Carrie (Campbell) Gale. She married Samuel A. “Elroy” LaFave on September 25, 1940. They shared a blessed union until the time of Samuels passing on December 18, 1980.
She is survived by 6 children: Kenneth (Barbara) LaFave, Linda (Ronald) Deshane, Gail (Gerald) Johnson, Caroll (Philip) Moulton, Sharon (Perry) Stowe, all of Brasher Falls, and Starr (Gary) McMahon of Bombay; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by her infant son, James; 2 daughters, Gloria Kelly and Clara LaFave; son-in-law, Perry Stowe; granddaughter, Lisa Almond; great- grandsons, Michael Moulton and Evan; as well as all her siblings: Truman Gale, Harry Gale, Shirley Stoddard, Esther Deshane Guyette, Carman Smith, Jessie LeFluer, and Vera Rogers.
