Gordon L. Snell

Winthrop - Gordon L. Snell, 64, passed away, Saturday, June 26, 2010 at his home under the loving care of his wife, family and Hospice. Born on July 8, 1945 in Potsdam, he is the son of the late Vincent J. and Marion V. Beaudin Snell. He attended Parishville - Hopkinton Central School. On May 15, 1965, he married Linda M. Newtown at the Church of the Holy Cross in Hopkinton with Fr. Plante celebrating; they enjoyed a loving relationship with many wonderful memories. Gordon was a mason, belonging to BAC #2 and then became self-employed for many years. He was devoted to providing for his family, proud of his grandchildren with whom he offered his love and guidance. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family and friends, visiting and feeding them at the Winthrop Bar. He enjoyed hunting with friends at Moosehead Hunting Club and the companionship provided by his dog, Sabrina. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda; two sons, Wayne and Stephanie Patraw of Winthrop, Raymond Patraw of Cicero; one daughter, Kimberly Ann and Ken Tabor of Ft. Jackson; brothers and sisters, Gerald (Jerry) and Bonnie Snell of Parishville, Gary and Sandra Sebastian of Parishville, James and Diana Snell of Potsdam and Paul and Darlene Snell of Parishville; grandchildren, Brian Patraw of Massena, Rylan, Quinn and Donavan Patraw of Winthrop, Joseph Tabor of Montana, Kyle and Kristopher Tabor of Ft. Jackson, William and Sydney Patraw of Cicero; several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday morning at 11 at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls with Fr. Garry Giroux and Fr. Douglas Lucia con-celebrating with Deacon Jim Snell, his brother.
