A Funeral Mass for Helen M. Liberty, 100, of Winthrop, NY will be celebrated Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m at St. Patrick's Church. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Brasher Falls, NY. Helen passed away on July 2, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in law Karen Liberty and Jim Swartz. She is survived by her seven children and five grandchildren, John and Suzanne Liberty, Stephen and Sarah; Joan Austin and Allison; Anne Liberty; Marie and Stephen Pasternack; Eileen and Fred Kessler; Tom and Susie Liberty, Brian, Cara and Jeffrey; Karen Liberty and Jim Swartz. She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years Wallace, her sister Irene Hall and brothers Eugene and Emmett Hall. Helen Liberty was born on April 19, 1910 to Isaac and Mary McCarthy Hall in Knapps Station, NY. The family moved to Brasher Falls where she graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. Helen received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1931 from the nursing school in Watertown, NY run by the Sisters of Mercy. On September 16, 1939, Helen married Wallace G. Liberty in the chapel of St. Joseph's Academy in Brasher Falls, NY. Helen was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Helen was a selfless wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life with patience, humility, tolerance and integrity. She was a constant and consistent rock for her family. At the family's request, please omit floral offerings and consider a memorial donation in Helen's honor to: Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley Inc. or Tri-Town Volunteer Rescue Squad.
