St. Regis Falls – Jacob S. Sprankle, 45, “Jake, Jakie” passed away Saturday morning September 7th at his home. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls.
Jake was born in Saranac Lake on May 1st, 1979, the son of Jeffery and Rebecca (Sheldon) Sprankle. He graduated from St. Regis Falls Central School and attended Canton ATC for one year.
On April 23rd, 2005, he was united in marriage to Michelle Russell, the marriage ended in divorce.
Jake is survived by one son Kyle and one daughter Kennedy at home.
Jake was employed at Olympic Tree and Land Management as an arborist, Dow Electric as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was currently employed at Matoon Construction.
He was a hard worker. Because of Jakes’ easy and outgoing demeaner he was able to form many lasting friendships which he cherished.
He enjoyed the outdoors, landscaping, 4 wheeling, and his Mama’s cooking. He always had a smile on his face, was very caring, and always there for his family and friends. His children were the light of his life.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffery and Rebecca Sprankle of Nicholville; his children, Kyle 18 yrs and Kennedy 8 yrs old; siblings, Jesse (Charity) Sprankle of St. Regis Falls, Serena Sprankle (James McIntosh) of Malone, and Zara Campbell of Nicholville; nieces and nephews, Alexis and Hunter Sprankle, Colby and Maci Campbell, Sadie Sprankle, Jameson McIntosh; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Jake was predeceased by his grandparents Nolan and Beverly Sheldon and Willis and Jean Sprankle.
Visitation will be Friday September 13th, from 11am – 2pm at the Hammill Funeral Home, 146 Co. Rt 5, St. Regis Falls 12980 and Jakes burial will follow, graveside at 3pm at Mound Hill Cemetery in Nicholville.
