Jane E. Shorette

August 11, 1948 — February 8, 2025

Jane Shorette, known as a caring, loving and compassionate individual went to her final home on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Her smile, laughter, and kindness will be missed by all.

Jane was fortunate to be born on August 11, 1948 to her wonderful parents Gerald and Marie Dabiew. Through them, the love for family, friends and anyone who crossed her path arose.

Jane married the love of her life, Stephen Shorette, on September 3, 1966; a marriage that most can only wish for - true dedication and always supportive. During their 58 years of marriage, they had two children; Rhonda (Mark) Peets and Leon (Stacey) Shorette. Much of her time was dedicated to her family; especially her grandchildren Mark (Noel) Peets, Stephenie (Matt) Farewell, Luke Peets, Gabrielle North, Stephen Shorette, and Sophie Shorette. She enjoyed watching their athletic events, dance recitals, plays and celebrating all life's milestones. Jane's three great grandchildren Nova, Myra, and Mark were the light of her life. She cherished the moments when they were running and playing through the house. Their Facetime moments will never be forgotten.

She favored the time spent with her six siblings Phil (Brenda) Dabiew, Donald (Ann) Dabiew, Gerald Dabiew, Barry (Janis) Dabiew, Alan (Eileen) Dabiew, and Joann (Gary) Dumville and many nieces and nephews. Their Friday breakfasts were always filled with stories and laughter. Her "sister" Sharon Boyer was always close to her heart, giving her the updated hair-dos, flashy purple nails and great lunch conversations.

Great times were spent in Florida with Louis (Pat) Shorette, Mary Lee (Harold) Flight, Victor (Lucille) Shorette, Robert (Mary) McDonald, Gary (Ann) Shorette, Theresa Cooper and John (Coleen) Melvin. Playing cards, going to the pool, and getting ice cream were always expected.

Many knew Jane through her time spent preparing taxes. All who had the honor to meet and know her will remember her bubbly personality, her laughter, and her wanting to go... the trips, the family gatherings. She never wanted to miss those special moments.

A huge thanks to all of her friends who supported her and her family through this life journey. A special thank you to Michelle Zellweger, the Claxton-Hepburn Hospital, Massena Dialysis, Northern Lights, Frary's Transportation, St. Lawrence County AIM and Hospice staff for their care and compassion. It will never be forgotten and was much appreciated.
