North Lawrence- Jordan M. Coughlin, 27, passed away Sunday July 18, 2010 at the Potsdam-Canton hospital with the love and support of his family.
Jordan was born in Saranac Lake on November 13, 1982 son of Sandra (Childs) Simonds and step-son of Daniel Simonds. He attended St. Lawrence Central School. On September 22, 2007 he married Jessica Premo in Massena at the Andrews St. Park. Their ceremony was beautiful.
Jordan was a self-employed construction worker, but more recently he was working for Derek LaMay.
He is survived by his wife and friend, Jessica, his children, Felicity and Kamdyn Coughlin, his siblings, Jason Coughlin of Brasher Falls, Julie Simonds of York, PA, Mark Simonds of Hopkinton, Arielle Simonds of North Lawrence, and Nathan Simonds also of North Lawrence, his parents, Daniel and Sandra Simonds of North Lawrence, his mother and father-in-law Timothy and Debbie Premo of Brasher Falls, and 2 brothers-in-law, Jason Premo of Brasher Falls and Adam Premo of Brasher Falls. Jordan was predeceased by his step-brother Danny Simonds.
Jordan was a unique person and a good father and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was a camping trip or kite flying with his kids. He took pleasure in just about any outdoor activity; from hunting and fishing, to boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, dirt bike riding and off roading with his truck "that went one year without a dent" spoke Jessica, "he was a motor head" quotes his brother Jason . Jordan and Jason both found fun and entertainment in fireworks, mostly when they were lighting the fuse instead of observing. Those who knew and loved Jordan will remember him as an extremist who liked to have a fun time. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Jordan's Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be Thursday morning at 11AM at the Knapp Station Community church with the Rev. Don Curry officiating. Burial will take place in St. Lawrence Cemetery in North Lawrence.
For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made in Jordan's honor to his wife and children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
