Massena – Karen M. Krise, 57, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Karen was born on December 1, 1960 in Massena, daughter of the late Donald D. and Mary Dora (Duquette) LaShomb. She married the love of her life, Thomas F. Krise, Jr. in Massena on August 25, 1979. They shared 38 years of devoted love and caring for one another through thick and thin.
While in Michigan, Karen worked at General Motors in Saginaw and locally, she and Tom operated Jake’s Place Café in Brasher Falls. She had a heart of gold and a house with a open door policy, who cared for many kids in need. She volunteered with the McCloud, OK Youth Soccer program and with Tri Town Youth Football.
She rode her Harley’s for over 40 years and was looking forward to riding this summer and being at camp. Her happiest times was being with family. Karen was a loving wife and awesome mom who enjoyed nothing more than having all her grandchildren at her home at any time. Her family and friends made her life complete.
