Nicholville - Keith R. Ramsdell, 62, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at UVMC in Burlington with his wife by his side. Following his wishes there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 11 am at New Hope Community Church, 33 Chestnut Street in Potsdam, followed by a remembrance luncheon at the church.
Keith was born in Potsdam on October 16, 1953, son of the late Reginald and Marie (Crump) Ramsdell. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central School and entered the U. S. Army. After her was discharged, he married Marie D. Barse on December 15, 1973 at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls. Marie passed away on February 1, 2001. He married Joan Brothers on October 7, 2001 in Parishville.
Keith worked at ALCOA in Massena for 32 ½ years, retiring as a crane operator. He was a quiet, honest man, who looked forward every year for hunting season.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, three children and their spouses, Matthew and Angela Ramsdell of Norfolk, Jay and Sarah Ramsdell of Syracuse and Julie and Manuel Gonzalez of Brasher Falls, two step-children; Steven and Brandi Pinczuk of TX and John Paul Pinczuk of Massena, twelve grandchildren, his siblings; Kathy and Terry Grant of Winthrop, Carolyn Ramsdell of Winthrop, Evelyn and Paul Stowe of Potsdam, Robert “Bob” and Tammy Ramsdell of Winthrop, Hugh and Margie Ramsdell of Winthrop and Sue Decker of Winthrop, his sisters in law, Kathy and Kevin Mayville of Bombay and Carolyn and Tom Cunningham of Wilson, NC, many nieces and nephews.
