Mr. Kenneth Everheart, 76, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday July 4, 2022, with his family by his side. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Kenneth Everhart was born November 25,1945 at McClellan Army Field Base in California to Walter and Ruth (Frison) Everhart. He graduated from Potsdam Central School in 1963. After graduating from Canton ATC with an Associate's Degree in Agriculture Sciences, he moved to Hollister, California where he worked for a short time at McCormick-Self as an assistant building foreman where they made high explosive components for NASA and the United States Military. He then enlisted in the Army in Oakland, California as a radio-teletype operator attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following his discharge in 1973, he returned to California and worked for Pacific Gas and Electric as a lineman on a traveling construction crew. In 1971 he returned to New York where he joined his father's business selling GMC trucks and construction equipment at Credle Equipment in Potsdam. During this time, he established a dairy farm which was his true passion. Following his father's retirement in 1986 Ken continued to operate the Credle business until its closure in 1998. In 2003 he sold the dairy herd but continued to raise young stock. He then went on to work as a private contractor delivering mail in the North Lawrence/Nicholville area. He was active in politics and a member of the Stockholm Republican Committee for over 35 years, 25 of them spent as Chairman. He was a Town Assessor, a Town Councilman, as well as serving on the Town Grievance Committee. His first marriage was to Beatrice Gaboni in 1967. He then married Audrey Smart on August 21st, 1993 who survives him. He is also survived by his two sons, Warren Everhart (Lori) and Clayton Everhart (Krystal), one daughter Meggyn Everhart; three step children Michelle Madura (Eric), John Siedlicki (Monica), Tammy Tassone (Richard); his sisters Diane Romlein (Donald), Nancy Decker (Clark), a brother Philip Everhart (Gail); as well as many nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and a son, Brian in 1970. In Ken's words - "I have no hobbies, I don't belong to any fraternal organization. I always just enjoyed working. Alone. As much as possible." Calling hours with be held on July 11TH from 10 - 12:00 noon at the West Stockholm Methodist Church with funeral and burial to follow.
