Malone – Kenneth R. Pelkey, 86, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at CVPH in Plattsburgh.
Following his wishes his family will honor his life with a graveside service at Sand Hill Cemetery in Dickinson in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls.
Kenneth was born in Dickinson Center on May 18, 1935, son of the late Edward L. and Flora (Eseltine) Pelkey, Jr. After high school, he entered the U. S. Army serving in Korea. He was employed at ALCOA in Massena for 42 years, working as a saw operator. He married Ritva L. Pentinen on February 16, 1985, in Malone.
He is survived by his wife, Ritva, his siblings, Marion LaFleur, Louva King, Richard Pelkey, Douglas Pelkey, Victoria Desormier, Lloyd Pelkey, Edith Fefee, Lyle Pelkey, and Phyllis Brown. He was predeceased by a brother Philip Pelkey.
