Laura Montgomery

Winthrop - Laura L. Montgomery, 65, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Laura was born on January 16, 1959, daughter of the late Ronald G. and Emily (Bracey) Rust. She married her high school sweetheart, Melvin M. Montgomery, on August 20, 1974. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Laura was a teacher for Malone Central School.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin, two sons, David J. Montgomery and Jonathan J. Montgomery, four siblings, Roger and Ellen Rust, Cindy Brautigan, Jan and Dale VanSteen, and Thomas Rust. She was predeceased by one son, Joshua J. Montgomery on December 16, 2022 and a brother, Craig Rust.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 18th at the Lawrence Christian Fellowship in North Lawrence from 4 to 6 pm. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
