Lois M. Seamans

Lois May (Ferris) Seamans, age 94, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on July 4th, 2022 in Suffolk, Virginia at the home of Michael and Karen Henry where she had been a resident. Cause of her death was debilitating conditions related to Covid.   

 Lois was born in Owensville, Missouri on August 28,1927 to Maurice Ferris and Clara Mae Price. She spent most of her youth in Missouri.  She eventually moved to New York where she married Gerald Henry.  They had 3 boys - Kenneth J. Henry (Reno, Nevada), Jerry W. Henry (Norwood, New York/ Deceased) and Michael A. Henry (Suffolk, Virginia).  Lois later in life married Kenneth Seamans in 1975.   During WWII Lois worked in a parachute factory in Chicago that supplied our soldiers. She was employed in New York at the Alcoa plant in Massena in food services. While living in Hampton, Virginia Lois worked at a electronics company.  Lois also worked in patient services at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, NY.   

Lois May Seamans will be fondly remembered for her beautiful singing voice especially for Christian songs like Amazing Grace.  She was known for her role as a caretaker with her support, dedication and generosity to others especially with family members. Her humorous and feisty nature will live on in our memories of her.   Lois was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her parents, Maurice Ferris and Clara Mae (Price) McMahon, her husbands, Gerald Henry and Kenneth Seamans, her son, Jerry W. Henry and grandson Adam M. Henry died before her.     

At Lois May Seamans request there will be no formal funeral services.  Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetary in Norwood, N.Y.
