Mary L. Deronde

Brasher Falls - Mary L. DeRonde, 60, entered into rest August 4, 2010 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. She was born October 17, 1949 in Potsdam, NY the daughter of the late Homer Dennis and Mary Newtown. Growing up in the area, Mary attended St. Lawrence Central School. She married Raymond F. DeRonde on December 20, 1975 at the Lawrenceville Baptist Church. Raymond predeceased her on October 23, 1996. These past few years, Mary resided at LBSH in Brasher Falls, where she looked forward to Wednesday church services in the chapel. She cherished the time spent with her granddaughters Tiara and Tiffani. From a good game of Rummy, to a simple conversation, they always knew grandma loved them. Besides listening to her favorite rock star Elvis Presley, she was an avid listener and collector of his memorabilia. Mary was once a member of the CB Club, where you might have known her as "Wild Donna". She is survived by her son Robert Scott of Massena; her daughter April Hence of Massena; a sister Bonnie Planty of Raymondville, and two granddaughters Tiara Hence and Tiffani Hence both of Massena. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Hammill Funeral Home, Winthrop. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home from 12:00 -1:00PM. If one chooses to do so memorial contributions may be made in Mary's honor to the Tri-Town Volunteer Rescue Squad, or to the American Diabetes Association.
