St. Regis Falls/Schenectady - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Ann LeMieux. Mary Ann transitioned peacefully from this world on January 27, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of her family. A beloved mother, grandmother and aunt and dedicated friend, Mary leaves behind a legacy of warmth and laughter that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Mary was born on March 22, 1941, in Brainardsville, NY, daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorthea (Gillan) Blow. She married David LeMieux on June 29, 1960, at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls, sharing a blessed union for almost 50 years until his passing on February 8, 2010. She embarked on a vibrant career as a bartender, sharing her genuine spirit with patrons at the Waverly Hotel and Riverside. Her love for people and knack for creating a welcoming atmosphere made her an adored staple of the establishment, where stories and friendships were born over countless drinks served with care. Mary was a communicant of St. Ann's Church, a member of St. Ann's Society, SRF Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, SRF American Legion Auxiliary, bowled in the Moira Bowling League and was co-chairman of the Democratic Party.
Mary leaves behind her loving children: daughter Laurie and Michael Tambasco, daughter Kathleen "Kathy" and Henry Bowers, and son Thomas "Tom" LeMieux, her grandchildren; Michael D. Tambasco, Najeeb Bowers, Natasha Bowers, her brother; Kenneth "Skip" and Sheila Dwyer and her sister, Dorothy Dane, Brother in law Walter Whalen, several nieces and nephews and those not related by blood, but were considered family in Mary's heart who will carry her memory in their hearts as they navigate life without her. Her family is comforted by the many warm memories and moments they shared, each one a testament to her nurturing nature and boundless affection. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents, a brother, Jim Clarke and a sister, Frances Whalen, brothers in law, Charles Dane and Ned LeMieux, Sister in law Rita LeMieux and nephews Alan Whalen, Stephen Whalen Jr, Joseph Anderson and Clay DeFayette.
Funeral services will be held to honor Mary Ann's life in the spring of 2025 with a Mass at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls followed by burial in the parish cemetery, a place that will serve as a peaceful resting place for her spirit.
