It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michelle E. Arquiett, who passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 81 on March 21, 2025, at RR Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Born on June 24, 1943, in Syracuse, NY, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Kathleen (Goettel) Charbonneau. She had a nickname of "Miki", and when she became a grandmother, she was called "Bumma". Michelle was a beloved figure to many, known for her kindness, wonderful humor, warmth, and bold spirit. She married Wayne D. Arquiett on December 28, 1963 at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls, with Monsr. Herbert Hannan celebrating.
Michelle Arquiett met her beloved husband, Wayne Arquiett, at Reynold's Metals in Massena, NY where they both worked. After marrying she found great fulfillment in being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Above all, Michelle was a devoted wife to her husband, Wayne Arquiett, and a loving mother to her 4 children, Wayne, Brad and Sherri, Jeffery and Stacy Arquiett, and her dear daughter, Danielle Arquiett, who passed away on October 11, 2000. She will also be remembered by her dearest sisters, Denise Lucas and Jacqueline White, along with nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, countless friends and extended family members whose lives she touched. She was also predeceased by her sister, Darcy Lee Johnson on September 8, 2021.
Reflecting on a life well-lived, Michelle's legacy will carry on through her commitment to family, love for nature and animals, her strong values, her humor, and the memories shared with those who loved her dearly.
Visitation services will be held on March 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Michelle will be laid to rest with her daughter, Danielle in Fairview Cemetery in Dickinson Center.
