St. Regis Falls- Paula M. Palmer, 65, passed away peacefully at her home, Saturday, March 8, 2014. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls.
Paula was born on August 11, 1948 in Van Buren, Maine, daughter of the late Charles and Alfreda (Beaulieu) Marquis. She married James A. Palmer on February 14, 1981 in Reno, NV, sharing 33 years with her best friend and companion.
She loved to cook and provided many great meals to patrons at Paula’s Airport Café at the Saranac Lake Airport and at the Corner Café in Gabriels. After retiring, she continued to cook and feed people, just because. She had a genuine sense of humor and those who knew Paula knew she loved to play practical jokes, followed by her unforgettable impish snicker.
Paula is survived by her husband, James; three children, Bianca Palmer of Malone, Paula Clayville of Jacksonville, FL and Paul Rivera of Tustin, CA; two grandsons, Bryce Palmer and Michael Clayville; three granddaughters, Breiann Palmer, Holly Clayville and Tiffany Rivera; three sisters, Annette Marquis of Fr. Bragg, CA, Dorathy Sanderson of Buford, GA and Jackie Zimmerman of Palm Harbor, FL; one brother, Tim Marquis of Lawrenceville, GA.
