Winthrop - Phyllis A. LaBarge, 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 26, 2014 at her home. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Phyllis was born in Dickinson on April 5, 1943, the daughter of the late John Frank and Lois Powell Pike. She grew up in Dickinson and later attended St. Lawrence Central. She was married to Richard J. LaBarge for 43 years and was blessed with ten daughters. For many years she stayed at home and raised her children, then later worked at Tardelli’s Restaurant, followed by owning and operating the P & L Market in Fort Jackson. Phyllis was a gracious and caring woman, whose friendly nature warmed the hearts of all who knew her. The greatest joys in her life were her daughters, always thinking of them before her own needs. Her grandchildren brightened her life with their presence and heartfelt love. She will be forever remembered for her love of family and friends. Phyllis is survived by her daughters; Janet and Kevin Thompson of Brasher Falls, Carol and Lance Hagen of Springhill, FL, Lisa LaBarge and her companion, Tim LaPage of Winthrop, Brenda LaBarge and her companion, Randy Price of Winthrop, Roxanne LaBarge and her companion, Brian Sochia of Winthrop, Nicole and Bruce Culver of Binghamton, Nancy LaBarge and her companion, Mitch Robertson of Winthrop, and Bobbie and Thomas Frary of Winthrop; 22 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Catherine LaBarge and Mary Ellen LaBarge, three brothers, John Pike, Jr., Philip Pike and Francis Pike, and one sister, Joan Beggs. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Phyllis' Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 1 pm at the Church of the Holy Cross in Hopkinton. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
