Rodney W. Roach

Brasher Falls- Mr. Rodney Roach,73, passed away in the comfort of his home on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

In following Rodney's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Rodney's burial and graveside service will be in the spring at Winthrop Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Rodney was born in Massena on August 17, 1951, to the late Donald and Eunice (Goodnow) Roach and graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School in 1970. After graduation Rodney continued his education at college for nursing. He began school in Malone transferring to Saranac Lake where he served his residency and earned his LPN.

He devoted 37 years of his career to Massena Memorial Hospital and dedicated an additional 12 years to Rose Hill, where he was known for his compassion and commitment to patient care. His nurturing nature extended beyond his profession; he was a generous and loving friend who always put the needs of others before his own.

In his free time, Rodney found solace in nature, taking joy in feeding birds and watching the deer and other critters that frequented his yard. His appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors reflected his gentle spirit and deep connection to the world around him.

He is survived by 2 beloved brothers: David Roach and Steven Roach. He was predeceased by his sister Eunice Roach who passed on July 10, 2016, and his brother Donald who died on May 30, 2019.

For those wishing to express an act of kindness, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
