Pierrepont – Ronald B. Jenks, 67, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at his home. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Ron was born on August 20, 1947 in Potsdam, son of the late Fay and Lorena (Snyder) Jenks. On May 3, 1966, he married Gloria A. Gibson at the United Methodist Church in Colton. They shared a union of 48 years, filled with love, affection and wonderful memories.
Industrious by nature, Ron found employment through the years at Sandstone Motors, doing body and fender work; was a truck driver for Ablobes Linen Supply and worked at the St. Lawrence University Riding Hall. He opened Ron Jenks Custom Cutting, providing custom meat cutting and then started making wooden toys.
He enjoyed the outdoors and found time spent fishing peaceful. Ron will be remembered as a kind person, who cherished his animals and loved his time spent with family.
Ron is survived by his wife, Gloria, one son, Fay and Aliza Jenks of Ogdensburg, two brothers, Michael and Donna Jenks and Larry Jenks, both of Colton; his grandchildren; Layci Williamson, Brian Lincoln, Tyler and Josh Legault, Bryson Jenks, Summer Jenks, Kaitie-Anne Jenks and Savanna Faye Jenks, one great granddaughter, Hailey Williamson. His sister, Cindy Gleason predeceased him.
Following his wishes, private services will be at his family's convenience.
