Susan M. Maxfield

January 1, 1955 — July 1, 2018

Norfolk- Susan Maxfield, 62, passed away on July 1, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home.

Susan was born on July 16, 1955 in Potsdam, daughter of Luella Wells, Colton, and the late Judson Paige.

She married the love of her life, Warren Maxfield, on July 20, 1974. They shared 48 years of their lives together.  Everybody knew Susan and Warren as a team, as they very rarely were apart.  Anyone who knew Susan and Warren could clearly see the love and devotion they shared.

Susan enjoyed sewing, crafting, and spending time with her family most of all.  Susan’s children, grandson, and husband were her pride and joy.  Susan and Warren completed all projects together as a team.  They worked on carpentry projects and restored more than one classic car together.  Susan enjoyed spending time at old car club events and loved spending time in North Carolina, visiting her oldest daughter, Lisa.  She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Warren; her dog, Winston; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dale Gonio II, Statesville, NC; her daughter, Kimberly Maxfield, Massena, NY and only grandchild, who she lovingly referred to as “NannyBaby,” Michael Francis III, Massena, NY; her siblings: Waldo “Junior” Paige, Colton; Bonnie and Harry Trott, Beverly Hills, Fl; Lee and Nicole Paige, NE.  She was predeceased by her brothers Donald and Terry Paige.

In keeping with Susan’s wishes services will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
