Brasher Falls/Nicholville – Wesley E. Kingsley, Jr., 99, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Mr. Kingsley was born on June 15, 1918 in Hopkinton, son of the late Wesley E. and Myrtle (Munson) Kingsley, Sr. He graduated from Parishville-Hopkinton High School. In 1938, he married the love of his life, Marie C. Collins at the Methodist Parsonage in Malone. Sharing 73 years in a loving union, blessed by a family that made them complete. They were a loving couple, giving a fine example to their family what true love is. Marie passed away on November 13, 2011 and they were reunited on Saturday.
He proudly served his country during WW II in the U. S. Air Force from 1944 – 1946. Wesley worked at ALCOA in Massena for over 35 years. He retired in 1975. He was a charter member of the Nicholville Fire Department, a member of the Nicholville United Methodist Church, a member of the ALCOA 25-year Club and a member of What Cheer Lodge #689 F&AM. Wes enjoyed his camaraderie in the Big Ten Hunting Club.
Summing up his 99 years is difficult, but those in his life knew him as a loving family man, a complete gentleman, supportive, caring and unconditional, with so many more mechanisms: his siblings, his wife-Marie, his children-Keitha and Kay, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren and his great great grandchildren, who energized his life.
Wesley is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kay and Oliver Peary, Jr. of Nicholville, seven grandchildren, Jeanne Hazelton, Jamie McGraw, Michael McGraw, Lynne Kelley, Tina Buckley, Tobin Peary and Kelly Bazdaric; 15 Great Grandchildren; three great great grandsons and two great great granddaughters. One daughter, Keitha McGraw, and six siblings, Clarence Kingsley, Floyd Kingsley, Ethel Frary, Lawrence Kingsley, Robert Kingsley and Harry Kingsley, predeceased him.
His family will receive friends at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, Wednesday from 12 to 2pm followed by his funeral service. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery in Nicholville with military honors.
