As per the family’s wishes, flowers are respectfully declined; memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Town Rescue Squad, Brasher-Winthrop Fire Department, or Helena Fire Department in honor of Bill for their respectable and dignified care that was provided in a time of need.
Billy was born in Bangor on March 14, 1940 to the late Anthony J. and Iva I. (Fletcher) Arquiett and graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School in 1958.
He married Keitha Conklin at Holy Cross Church in Hopkinton on April 9, 1960. A perfect pair with a sturdy foundation to build upon, sharing 58 years together filled with plenty of hard work, lots of laughter, and an abundance of love.
Bill worked as a machine repairman at General Motors for 47 years, retiring in 2006. He loved his GM-UAW family and truly cared for those he worked alongside.
In his early years, Bill was an avid snowmobile rider and won many trophies on the drag racing circuit. He spent a great deal of his time in the woods, whether it be hunting, fishing, or cutting logs and then sawing them into lumber; he was a master self-taught woodworker.
He was the kind of father that worked a great deal of overtime to provide for his family, but somehow always found a way to attend his children and grandchildren’ sporting events and/or races at Frogtown.
A man of great character who was proud of his family, who had a unique sense of humor and was blessed with hard-working hands. He was a tremendous husband, father, and grandfather who will be so sorely missed by us all.
He is survived by: his wife, Keitha; children: William “Billy” and Denise Arquiett Jr., Tammy Arquiett, Anthony “Tony” and Wendy Arquiett, and Michael and Susan Arquiett; grandchildren: Nicole Arquiett, Trevor and Carrie Arquiett, Will Arquiett, Miranda Groebler and Travis Mayne, Troy and Erin Groebler, Zachary Arquiett, Styles Arquiett and his companion Natasha, and Luke Arquiett and his companion Angelica; great-grandchildren: Cooper and Stella Arquiett, Ellia and Torin Mayne, Cordelia Lynch, Anthea Groebler, Delaney Groebler, and Harper Arquiett.
Survivors also include Bill’s siblings: Beverly (James) Gauthier, Wayne (Michelle) Arquiett, Linda Hartson, Steven (Missy) Arquiett, Kathy Ward, Karen (Christopher) LaMora, Sherry (Kevin) Shaver, Sheila (Chris) Sharland, and Paul Arquitt; sister-in-law- Dawn Arquiett; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents Bill was predeceased by 4 siblings: Mechelle, Patricia “Patsy”, Dale, and Colin; and 2 brothers in-law- Douglas Hartson, and Wayne Arquitt.
