Gloria J. Kelly

Brasher Falls - Gloria J. Kelly, 58, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Canton Potsdam Hospital under the care of Hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. As per Gloria's wishes, private services will be held at her family's convenience. Gloria was born on October 4, 1952, daughter of Samuel Elroy and Edna Gale Lafave. She graduated from Salmon River in 1971 and then the Malone School of Cosmetology. She was a hairdresser for 33 years, owning and operating the Magic Mirror Beauty Shop in Brasher Falls. In 1993, she went to work at St. Lawrence Central School as a cook. She retired in 2010. She is survived by her husband, Alton; two sons, Matthew S. Kelly and Joshua M. and Michelle Kelly, of Winthrop; her mother, Edna Lafave of Brasher Falls; four grandchildren, Chloe E. Kelly, Gavin M. Kelly, Ian Whitcomb and Ryan Whitcomb; one brother, Kenneth and Barbara Lafave of Brasher Falls; six sisters, Clara LaFave, Linda and Ronald Deshance, Gail and Gerald Johnson, Carol and Phillip Moulton, Sharon and Perry Stowe, all of Brasher Falls and Starr and Gary McMalton of Bombay; many nieces and nephews.
