Patricia L. (Tharrett) Parks of Brasher Falls passed away on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. Pat was born on April 16th, 1944 in Potsdam, New York to the late Ida Jane (VanAlstine) and James A. Tharrett. She grew up in Nicholville, lived in various places throughout New York and in the Midwest and returned home to live in Nicholville 22 years ago. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central in 1962 and attended Paul Dean’s Beautician School where she learned her hairdressing skills. While her children were growing up, she was a homemaker and dedicated her time to raising her kids and household. Throughout her career she cut hair for a variety of salons. A woman of the Lord, Patricia was a member of Heartland Miniseries for 16 years in Indiana and of New Testament Church in Massena. She was working at Helping Hands of Hannawa Falls, in the office and assisting with inventory. A headstrong and intelligent woman, she was a giver, and a loving mother, who knew how to stand her ground. Pat enjoyed reading books, sewing and making crafts and in her younger years, she enjoyed riding and showing her horses at the fairs. Patricia is survived by her children; Sarah Parks of Potsdam, Elisabeth (Shawn) Rowe of Massena, Kirk (Rebeca) Parks of Arizona, Matthew (Yasaman) Parks of Colorado, her brother’s; James (Patricia) Tharrett Jr. of Nicholville, and Robert (Donna) Tharrett of Rome, and a sister; Pamela Levitt of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Sophia, Mayia, Rachel, Mia, Gabrielle, Madelyn, Cooper and Isabella. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home, and a Celebration of Life will be held in Pat’s honor at a later time. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Mound Hill Cemetery in Nicholville.
