St. Regis Falls - John J. Haney, Jr.53, passed away Sunday evening at the Fletcher Allen Medical Center. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home, St. Regis Falls. John was born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 16, 1957 the son of the late John and Patricia (Coyle) Haney Sr. After moving to the area, he attended Malone Academy Schools and received his GED. He was once married to Myra Wilson; together they raised two children Allecia and Ian. At one time Mr. Haney was employed with the Hoyt Construction Company, and throughout the Tri-Lakes region. John enjoyed spending time fishing as well as utilizing his skills as a carpenter when working with wood. He also was once a member of the St. Regis Falls Volunteer Fire Department. John leaves behind a son and a daughter Ian Haney of St. Regis Falls, and Allecia Haney and her companion Ryan St. Louis of Lake Placid. Also surviving John are his four sisters and two brothers, Melody and Rick Solley of Horsham, PA, Patricia and David Burns of Warrington, PA, Nancy and Cesar Negron of Horsham, PA, Michelle and Eric Wiley of Warminster, PA, George Haney of Florida, and William and Denise Haney of Philadelphia, PA; along with many nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Hammill Funeral Home, St. Regis Falls Friday (March 25, 2011) from 1:00-2:00PM. Funeral services will commence at 2:00PM. Interment will take place in Forest Cemetery, St. Regis Falls at a later date. Expression of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the St. Regis Falls Volunteer Fire Department.
