Bernice M. Walker

Malone - Bernice M. (Dufrane) Walker, 73 formerly of St. Regis Falls, passed away unexpectedly Monday Morning at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. Mrs. Walker was born January 26, 1938 in St. Regis Falls the daughter of the late William and Bernice (Surprise) Dufrane, where she was educated locally. On December 16, 1974 she married Cecil R. Walker in Dickinson Center with the Honorable Jeff Frasier officiating, where the couple enjoyed their life together in St. Regis Falls. On April 26, 2008 Mr. Walker predeceased her. Since 2009 Bernice relocated to Malone, but her heart never left St. Regis Falls, and all the fun times she had at the St. Regis Falls Adult Center. She is survived by her sisters Shirley Boileau, of Malone and Betty (Donald) Richard of Chateauguay; two brothers William (June) Dufrane of Lyon Mountain, and Donald (Patti) Dufrane of New Mexico. Bernice is also predeceased by four brothers, Athel, Gerald, James and Harvey. The family will receive friends at the Hammill Funeral Home, St Regis Falls, Thursday (Aug. 18, 2011) from 12-1pm, Funeral services will be held at 1pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made in her honor to the St. Regis Falls Adult Center.
