Eileen L. Belile

Colton - Eileen L. Belile, 82, passed away peacefully June 22, 2012 at Canton Potsdam Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Eileen was born on December 25, 1929 in Lake Placid, daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Peck) Durgan. She married Earl J. Belile in Colton on January 31, 1987. Family was important to Eileen; her family shared of many happy times, highlighted by her contagious laughter. Eileen's bright welcoming smile and kind words endeared her to many friends. She cherished her morning serenades, social outings, dancing with family and following the local "Old Barn Boys" bluegrass band. She is survived by her husband, Earl; her children, Sharon Hampton of California, Mary Hampton-Cole and her partner, Linda of Watertown, Richard Hampton and his wife, Barbara of Colorado, Carol Green and her husband, Gary of Watertown, and Arlene Bump and her husband, Randy of Parishville; three brothers, Rolland Durgan of Canandaigua, Kenneth Durgan of Ohio and David Durgan of Canton; one sister, Ruth Belile of Indiana; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 6 at the funeral home, followed by Eileen's Funeral and Celebration of Life at 6 pm with Rev. Lee Sweeney officiating.
