North Lawrence - Lawrence M. "Larry" Turner, 67, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Larry was born on October 15, 1944 in Ogdensburg, son of the late Robert W. and A. Jean (Porter) Turner. He graduated from Lisbon Central School in 1962 and from Canton ATC. He married Elizabeth B. Davie on June 28, 1964 in Orangetown, NY; they celebrated their 48 anniversary together. He was a dairy farmer; owning and operating Turner Farms in Lisbon and North Lawrence. Never one to be idle, Larry also worked construction, was a plumber and pipe fitter, welder, truck driver and did small engine repair. He was a member of Brasher Lodge #541, F&AM in Brasher Falls and the First Baptist Church in Ogdensburg. Larry enjoyed wood working, gardening, sharing his wisdom and love of travel with his family. Larry is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two children; Elizabeth A. Turner and Robert J. Turner and his wife, Candace, all of North Lawrence; one brother, George E. Turner of Brasher Falls; two grandchildren, Mellyssa and John Turner of North Lawrence. Three brothers, Richard, Arthur and David Turner, predeceased him. There will be no calling hours; his family will have private services at their convenience.
