Bertha T. Lapage

Dickinson Center - Bertha T. LaPage, 60, passed away peacefully July 12, 2012 at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Bertha was born on May 23, 1952 in Massena, daughter of the late Joseph Angus and Mary Jane (Derouchie) Martin. She attended St. Lawrence Central School and on June 21, 1969, married Francis LaPage at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls. They shared a blessed union built on love, support and respect for 43 years. She worked for several years at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake in housekeeping. A wife and mother, Bertha was happiest when her family gathered together. Her children were her blessings and those blessings were increased with the arrival of grandchildren. When she was able, she attended mass at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls. Bertha is survived by her husband, Francis, their children: Scott and Suzanne LaPage of Norwood, Nicole and Rodney Jock of St. Regis Falls, Timothy LaPage and his companion, Lisa LaBarge of St. Regis Falls and Richard and Bunny French of Moira, six grandchildren: Emily, Samantha, Abigail, Miranda, Megan and Richard, two sisters: Leona and Donald McMartin of Whitby, Ontario, Canada and Margaret and Brian Kinnear of Rochester, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Salina Carpenter and Marceline Bandy. Following Bertha's wishes, there will be no calling hours; a private Celebration of her Life will be held at her family's convenience.
