Jack Riggs Richards

North Lawrence - Jack Riggs Richards, 71, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Jack was born in Malone on August 31, 1941, son of the late Vernon and Marjorie (Riggs) Richards. He received his education in Moira schools and pursued his life long career in dairy farming, working at various farms in the area. Jack enjoyed the outdoors; especially hunting and fishing for relaxation. Jack is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Wanda and Lyle Boyce of Burlington, VT, Vernon and Fran Richards of West Haven, CT, Audrey and Jack O'Reilly of Del Ray Beach, FL, Douglas and Mabel Richards of North Lawrence, Janet and Jerry Ellis of Visalia, CA, Betty and Larry Mackey of Macedon, Etta May and Bill Mackey of Baldwinsville, Connie Hourihan and Bill Gillette of Gates, and Gary and Deannie Richards of Glendale, AZ; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother in 1978, his father in 1980 and his sister, Beverly Gillette in 2012. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 3 at the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. A Remembrance Gathering will commence at 3:30 pm graveside at Sand Hill Cemetery in Dickinson, with Rev. Donald Work presiding. Immediately following the gathering there will be a luncheon at the St. Regis Falls Sportsmens Club.
