Gloria Jean Sexton

St. Regis Falls - Gloria J. Sexton, 80, passed away Monday, June10, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in St Regis Falls. Gloria was born on June 8 1933 in the Town of Lawrence, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Minnie (Newton) Siltz. She graduated from Parishville-Hopkinton High School and on December 23, 1953, was united in marriage to Arthur H. Sexton at the Church of the Holy Cross in Hopkinton. They shared a blessed union for 43 years prior to his passing on February 27, 1997. Gloria worked for several years as manager of Loblaw's in Malone; after they had children and she dedicated herself to her role as mother. Her pastimes included knitting, crocheting and sharing her creations with loved ones. She committed herself socially as seen through her involvements with the Franklin County Board of Elections, the St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue Auxiliary and the St. Regis Falls Sportsmen Club. Gloria was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls. She is survived by her four sons; Dale and Patricia Sexton of St. Regis Falls, Douglas Sexton of Brushton, Dana and Sandra Sexton of Southbridge, MA, and Daryl Sexton of Anchorage, AK, two daughters, Dawn and Michael LaBounty of St. Regis Falls and Darla and Robert Conyea of Norwood; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Hull of Ft. Jackson; 12 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Always remembered in her heart was her son, David, who died in 1983 and her siblings, Gerald E. Siltz, Joseph B. Siltz, Jr. and Evelyn Baldwin. Following Gloria's wishes; her services will be private at the convenience of her family.
