North Lawrence – James Engle, 57, passed away Monday morning (March 24, 2014) at his home, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
James was born on January 21, 1957 in Pasadena, California, son of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth J. (King) Engle. Being raised in a military family, Jim graduated from high school in Missouri and joined the U. S. Air Force, honorably serving for four years. On November 16, 1991, he married June Crump at their home in North Lawrence. Their love complimented each other, while they worked together to accomplish their daily family tasks.
He was always ready for a trip to the casino. Jim enjoyed gardening, drawing, music, caring for his cats and watching his TV shows while at home. He gave his love generously to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, June; children, Bobbi Jo Secore of Massena, Stacy Lynn LaMora and James Allen of Sodus and Beth Ann Belknap and Terry Leaman of Bombay; his grandchildren, Vicotria and Wayne Bowman of North Rose, Jesse LaMora and Samantha Snyder of Sodus, Michael LaMora and Taylor Anthony of Wolcott Keith LaMora and Megan LaMay of North Rose, Valerie LaMora of Wolcott, Narissa Secore and Robert Knepp III of Massena, Trevor Secore and Rebecca Murray of Massena, Shane Belknap and Casete Rolfes of Massena and Natasha and Andrew Tilly of Massena; great grandchildren, Lillian, Wayne, Jr., Jordan Bowman of North Rose, Dominic LaMora of Sodus, Cassandra and Damian Knepp of Massena and Brayden Tilly of Massena; his siblings, Robert and Rosamond Engle, Jr. of Oreana, IL, Patricia Goforth of Lemay, MO, Carolyn and Larry Macklin of French Village, MO and Christopher Engle of French Village, MO. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Michael Engle in 2003, and a brother in law, Robert Goforth.
