Dickinson Center- Mrs. Brenda L. White, 63, passed away peacefully, Friday July 4th, 2014 at her home, where she was surrounded by her loving family and under the care of her husband Theron and Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Brenda was born in Malone on March 5, 1951, daughter of Almon and Jennie (Susice) Wait. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from St. Regis Falls High School. Brenda continued her education at SUNY Potsdam where she earned a Bachelor’s degree. On June 28, 1969, Brenda was married to Theron A. White at St. Ann’s Church in St. Regis Falls with Fr. Beyette officiating. Brenda and Theron raised their family and enjoyed life together. They were blessed with a beautiful marriage filled with dedication to one another, faith, love, and care as well as trips to Florida and watching their grandchildren grow. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary together this past June. Brenda worked at St. Regis Falls High School as a devoted reading teacher for many years until her retirement in 1994. Those who knew and loved Brenda will always remember her good cooking and how Christmas was her favorite holiday. She had a knack for genealogy and took the challenge of putting together family trees head on. Her adventurous spirit allowed her to enjoy camping, ATV riding, and time spent at the beach. Brenda was an avid reader, loved music, especially Willie Nelson, and dancing. She had a special place in her heart for her tight-knit group of friends and cherished those friendships. She had a heart that cared completely and was nothing short of thankful for her family and blessings. She is survived by her husband, Theron, their children: Tisha L. White of Newcomb, NY, and Aaron L. and Terri White of Dickinson, 3 grandchildren: Zachary, Alexander, and Lucas White of Dickinson, her mother, Jennie Wait of St. Regis Falls, sister and brother-in-law, Veronica A. and Michael G. Sweet of Dickinson, nieces and nephews: Tesa Sweet of Dickinson, Todd and Cheryl Sweet of NJ., Kaitlyn Wait of St. Regis Falls, and Marcus Wait of NH.,great niece and nephew,Fahren Sweet and Preston Sweet, and many cousins. Brenda was predeceased by: her father, Almon L. Wait, brother, Almon G. Wait, and sister, Crystal L. Wait. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 6 at the funeral home. Brenda’s Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00am at St. Ann’s Church in St. Regis Falls with Fr. Tim Canaan celebrating. Burial will take place at the convenience of her family. Flowers are gratefully declined.
