Shirleen P. Lavine

North Lawrence - We sadly make known the passing of Shirleen P. Lavine, 73 of North Lawrence. She passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Shirleen was born on May 13, 1937 in Massena, the daughter of the late Albert and Alice Sucese. She married Joseph Paul Lavine in 1954. Shirleen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took pleasure in crossword puzzles, enjoyed going to bingo and was known to play the lottery. However, her greatest love was spending time with her family and many friends. Through the years, she tended bar at Rhodes Bar and Grill, the Hilltop, Montroy's, the Jug, and Adams Club. She is survived by her two sons, Michael and his wife, Cynthia, and James both of Lawrenceville; two daughters, Patricia Lavine of Parishville and Sherry and Marty LaVare of Williamson; two brothers, Darwin Sucese of Massena and Kenneth Sucese of Bucks Bridge; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Her husband, Joseph, one son, Richard, and three brothers, Robert Sucese, Jack Sucese and Donald Sucese, predeceased her. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, Friday from 4 to 7 pm. Shirleen's funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10 at the Knapp Station Community Church, 3035 County Route 47, Norwood, NY 13668. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Hopkinton.
