St. Regis Falls - Harley I. Brabon, 69, of St. Regis Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 08, 2010 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Harley was born on November 17, 1940 in Malone, son of the late Eugene and Arietta Cummings Brabon and graduated from St. Regis Falls High School. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Connie Falvey at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls in April of 1992. She passed away in June of 1995. Through the years, Harley was a Heavy Equipment Operator, working for various companies but he retired from Malone Quarries. He loved kids and would do anything with them. He was in charge of the Meacham Lake Ice Fishin Derby for years and the Alexander Fish and Game. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 322 in St. Regis Falls, the St. Regis Falls Sportsmen Club, the East Brook Hunting Club and the Federation Club. He is survived by two brothers and sisters in law, Harry and Ida Brabon of Norwood and Alton and Cathy Brabon of Lyndonville; many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Connie, two brothers, Barclay and Jack, predeceased him. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in St. Regis Falls. A Celebration of his Life will be held at at later date at the St. Regis Falls Sportsmen Club.
