North Lawrence -Bernard J. Snyder, 81, of North Lawrence, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at Massena Memorial Hospital. Mr. Snyder was born on August 31, 1928 in North Lawrence, son of the late George and Margaret LePage Snyder and attended North Lawrence Schools. He married Mary C. Santimaw on October 13, 1948. After her passing, on December 28, 1977, he married Mildred Senecal, she passed away on January 5, 2002. Mr. Snyder was a crane serviceman at Reynolds Metals in Massena, retiring on Feb. 28, 1991. He was known to be a collector, enjoying driving around the community finding treasures. A favorite part of his day was spent in conversation with friends, especially at the Pit Stop Diner. He is survived by his children, Loretta Foster of N. Lawrence, Bernard Snyder, Jr. of Auburn, Linda Fowland of Arizona , Linda Judware, Rita and Jim Durant , Gary and Nancy Gardner Deborah LaPage, all of Moira, Kathy and Paul Dumas of Malone, John Gardner and his companion Debra Aldous of North Lawrence; one sister, Marion Cootware of Massena; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his feline companion, Miss Kitty. He was predeceased by three children, Donald Santimaw, Larry Snyder and Bobbie Snyder, seven brothers, Neil, Ralph, Harold, Leo, Kenneth, Arthur and one sister, Blanche Moquin. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Following Bernard's wishes; there will be no calling hours. Graveside prayers will be in Carville Cemetery in Helena, on Wednesday at 3 pm with Fr. Garry Giroux of St. Lawrence Church of North Lawrence.
