St. Regis Falls- Mr. Michael J. Rottier, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 5, 2016 in North Bangor at the home of Shelley LePage, where he was under her comfort care and the care of Hospice of the North Country. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls.
Michael was born in Malone on October 24, 1948 to the late William and Isabelle (Bova) Rottier Sr. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Franklin Academy. For many dedicated years Michael worked as a janitor for the St. Regis Falls Central School.
He was married to Judy Oshaugnessy until the time of her passing.
Working with his skillful hands Michael was blessed with the technique of woodworking and especially repairing and creating clocks. His home on the Blue Mountain Road was decoratively filled with his clock creations and collections. He also enjoyed hunting.
Michael is survived by 2 sons: John Rottier and his companion of Malone, and Michael Rottier Jr. and his companion of Bangor, 4 grandchildren, his brothers and sisters: Darrell and Janice Rottier of Malone, Louis and Marie Rottier of Massena, Marion and Wendell Ruegsegger of Biloxi, MS., Theresa and Morris Barney of Malone, and Doug and Monica Rottier of El Paso, TX., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his wife and parents, Michael was also predeceased by a brother, William Rottier Jr. and a sister, Susan Perry.
Calling hours will be Thursday July 14 from 11am-1pm at the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. A closing prayer service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1pm.
