Dickinson Center- Mr. Kurt F. Harder, 92, peacefully passed away on Saturday January 21, 2017 in the comfort of his home with the embrace and support of his wife Norma, son Eric, and hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Kurt was born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts on March 17, 1924 to the late Frederick and Margaret Harder. He attended high school until the 10th grade and graduated as a machinist. He proudly served his country in the US ARMY as a machinist, earning an honorable discharge in 1946. On June 24, 1950 Kurt married Norma Luzi. They were true soul-mates, sharing a blessed union of 66 years; a relationship formed with mutual respect, dedication, and love. Blessed with an eye for craftsmanship and a skilled hand, Kurt excelled in woodworking and boat building. It was his true passion. Together with his son Eric, they owned and operated the construction business K Harder & Son. More recently Kurt worked as a building inspector for the Town of Dickinson. He is survived by his wife, Norma; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lee Harder of MA; 2 granddaughters, Corie and Michael Luzon and Alison and Zackary Smigelski, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In keeping with Kurt's wishes, there will be no services at this time. A memorial service and burial will take place in Massachusetts at the convenience of his family. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue.
