Massena – Pauline F. Gurrola, 85, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, July 6, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Pauline was born on June 6, 1932 in the Provence of Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Lawrence and Lea (Carriere) Boudreau. She received her education in Parochial School in Cornwall and at the age of 15, was also working at the Cordell Cotton Mill in Cornwall. On July 26, 1952, she married James H. Gurrola in Cornwall, with whom she shared 55 years in a loving union with the blessings of family. Mr. Gurrola passed away in 2007. Besides raising a family, Pauline worked as a bartender/waitress for Sprague's Restaurant in Rooseveltown. She relaxed watching the "Young and the Restless" and old Westerns, enjoyed motorcycle riding in her younger years and taking long rides with her daughter, Cindy. Her best legacy in life was being a loving mother, cherished grandmother and great grandmother. She had a deep love for her family. Some of her happiest times were being with and caring for her children. Pauline treasured the life God gave her, along with his tender mercies that allowed her to triumph over the trials and tribulations during her journey. She is survived by four children, James and Karen Gurrola of N. Lawrence, Cindy Crietes of Massena, Jeffery Gurrola of Helena and Timothy Gurrola and his companion, Jodie Pelkey of Massena, four siblings, Pierrette GaDoua, Cecile FoBare, Bruno Boudreau and Linda Smith, all of Ontario, Canada, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
