St. Regis Falls - Ruth E. Marlow, 95, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Ruth was born on February 16, 1922 in Westville, daughter of the late John and Ethel (Nokes) Avery. She married Ernest W. Marlow on December 11, 1943 in Notre Dame Church in Malone. Mr. Marlow passed away on January 8, 2003. She helped run the family plumbing business in Brushton for many years. Her love of children led her to have a day care for many children. She enjoyed raising African violets and gloxinias, relaxed sewing and playing bingo. She had a great regard for family life; cherishing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and proud of the many friends she had. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Joan and Kenneth Sather of St. Regis Falls, Sandra Marlow and Deborah Saturno of Syracuse, two stepdaughters, Laura and Edward DiPreta and Annette Lowe, all of St. Simon Island, GA, one sister, Grace Griffin of Westville, four grandchildren, 3 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased byone son, Dale in 1947, three brothers, Lawrence, Davis and Alton, seven sisters, Wilma, Anna, Lillian, Edna, Marjorie, Freda and Flora. Her Mass will be held at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls on August 1st at 11:00am. Interment will be on August 2nd at Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone at 11:00 am.
